MOORE'S MARINES

RACE WALKING CLINIC

Sunday
 19 April

GREETINGS MOORE'S MARINE'S

KENT ISLAND RUNNING GROUP
and
ANNE ARUNDEL STRIDERS

One aspect of long distance running taht we ALL come to realize is that you eventually need to walk. If it is due to fatigue, steep climbs, narrow trails, or just for a change of pace; we ALL need to walk.
Another thing I have noticed over the years is that I am a SLOW walker. I found I lose a lot of time when I walk.

Last month I attended a Racewalking seminar in Las Angeles by two time Olympian Tim Seaman. By the end of the session, I was walking comfortably at 4.5 mph and could reach 5.0 mph. Before, I struggled to do 4.0 mph for any length of time.  It takes concentration and practice of the technique - but it works.
