Great morning for the run last Saturday – if you like the first two of the four H’s; Hot and Humid! Who can tell me what the other two H’s are? The run was a little muggy– 78degrees, 84% humidity.
Again, let me know if you are planning on doing the Wednesday and/or Saturday, or Sunday sessions. We should have a couple of new faces.
Tom Nelson has constructed a site to show our routes and water stop locations for the long run coming up each week. Check back to the following website later in the week for the latest info on water support: http://www.runningahead.com/groups/truman/Forum
“Would you be interested in seeing a “Replay” of your race that follows your, and friends/rivals, progress from Start to Finish?
Take the poll.

Great morning for the run last Saturday! This past Saturday was pretty nice but a little muggy– 72degrees, 84% humidity. We got the run done before the rains came.
Again, let me know if you are planning on doing the Wednesday and/or Saturday, or Sunday sessions. We should have a couple of new faces.

A friend and I did Zooma together a few weeks ago. She was recovering from pneumonia and I'd been busy training for a century ride and hadn't been doing much running - we were a pair, but we took our time and actually had a fun time. I paid for it the next couple days, but was delighted that I was able to finish!
Last weekend I completed a century out in Tahoe. It was AMAZING, and probably the hardest ride I've ever done. On mile 80 we had an 8 mile climb! I was thinking about you a lot as I was going through my training. I didn't have as great an experience training with my coach for my ride as I did training with you last year. It takes a special person, who's dedicated and passionate about what they do, to pass that passion on to their students. Your shoes were certainly hard to fill!!
Now that my rides over I'm hoping to get out and join the group again soon. I've recruited a friend, (she's lost 90lbs running) and hope to bring her along. She needs a little mama and papa bear in her routine :)
Thanks again for all you do, and hope to see you soon,
Hugs, Leenie
Greetings Spring Runners; Week #7
Great morning for the run last Saturday! This past Saturday was pretty nice – 74degrees, 64% humidity. I scored the Friends of the SUDAN 5k and everyone had a great race. I did the EAGLEMAN Half IRONMAN triathlon on Sunday. My early (read ‘old guys/gals’) wave spared me from the jellyfish and the chop. It was nice to have overcast for the early part of the bike but the wind picked up for the last 20 miles and the sun came on strong for the run.
Friends of Sudan 5K Run and Fun Walk: June 13th -- Results

Greetings Spring Runners; Week #6
The weekend runs are starting to pick up – more people, warmer, more humid. Now, if we could just dry out! It is nice that the new Bacon Ridge Bridge is completed or we would be doing a lot more sloshing through the calf deep water at the 3 ½ mile point!
This past Saturday was pretty nice – 71degrees, 74% humidity, but I only did 5 miles in taper for Eagleman Triathlon this weekend. I was scoring a Kid’s Triathlon in Doylestown PA on Sunday so I did not get all of the info from the two recent big races – MARYLAND HALF and ZOOMA HALF & 10K. Willie Gumula did report that the MD HALF was like running 13.1 miles of the Three Bear – Ugh! I know the ZOOMA folks got caught in a downpour at the beginning; which we thankfully missed at the Bob Potts Marathon.
Greetings Spring Runners; Week #5
Wow! What a terrific weekend for running. There was a lot going on with ZOOMA, a number of 5k’s, and Tri’s. I was 'persuaded' by Nancy Cooper to join her, David Ayer and John Gee to go up to York Pa and do the inaugural Bob Potts Maraton. Doing the Skyline Drive ride the week before did not get me any sympathy, even though I wimpered, moaned, rubbed my back, and groaned, they made me do it.
-Bob Potts will be a great local marathon. limited to 400, very flat small gravel path (very runable), well tree covered, well supported, out and back. There was a call for morning showers but they obviously stayed south to give the ZOOMA runners something to talk about :-)
- David led the troop with a 3:52; Nancy was 4th in her Age Group at 4:08, John came in at 4:27 (not far off his PR), and I came in at 4:47 (20 minutes quicker than Frederick so I was pleased).
- See Nancy's photo posts of the group with the "Mystery Machine".
